Hello, Sunshine State! Florida is your ideal place of business, but you’re still on the hunt to find a business address that fits you. What does your perfect match look like? You’ve pretty much nixed the home address (BIG privacy issues), and you know a PO box doesn’t work. Now, you’ve come to learn about the virtual mailbox option.
Luckily for you, VirtualPostMail (VPM) has a Florida virtual mailbox that offers big benefits! Read on to learn about how VPM is a match for you.
1. No State Income Tax
As a remote business owner in Florida, you’re already winning over 43 other states because Florida is one of the seven states in the U.S. that does not have state income tax. Score! This means that you will not have to pay state income taxes on your earnings from your Florida LLC.
2. Free Florida Registered Agent
VPM’s commercial registered agent service satisfies the state requirement for operating your Florida LLC. Registered agents are responsible for accepting legal documents and service of process on behalf of the business. There is no limit to the number of businesses you can register, so you will see HUGE savings if you have multiple business entities. You can save over $100 or more a year compared to using a dedicated registered agent service.
Also, compared to traditional registered agents, which use snail mail to deliver documents to you, VPM has the ability to scan and upload documents that will be sent to your online account, like email. You will have same-day access to service of process and any other legal notices that are received on your behalf.
Now, let’s talk about privacy and being your own registered agent. All registered agent addresses are posted on public record, so that means any personal information attached to your LLC, including your home address, will be accessible to the public. You don’t want to allow random strangers to have access to where you live, so why would you use your home address for your registered agent? The good news is that with VPM, you won't have to worry about your privacy or protection because you’ll get a registered agent address separate from your home.
3. Proof of Address: TruLease
If you don’t have a physical address in the U.S., it can be difficult to open a bank account. VPM solves that problem with the option to get a TruLease address! This address provides a physical business address that is valid to use as proof of address.
Now, you may be wondering, “Why do I need a business bank account to begin with?” Well, here’s why. As a remote business owner, it is very important to separate your personal and business finances and assets. Think about how confusing it can be to track back to every write-off you have made for the past month, trying to separate which expenses were personal versus business-related. Imagine if you stopped manually keeping track of things for a full year. That’s so much time wasted during tax season, and there is a high risk of error and potential risk of financial losses.
Having a business bank account makes it easier for you to keep track of your assets and accounting when tax season rolls around, but it also protects your personal liability. In the worst-case scenario that your business shuts down, your personal assets will be protected.
4. Access to All Virtual Mailbox Services
Along with the aforementioned benefits, you will also be able to take advantage of many features that are included with VPM’s virtual mailbox.
Check Depositing
This service allows you to deposit your checks in your virtual mailbox. When you receive new mail, it will be opened and scanned, which you can then view in your virtual mailbox account. If you have received a check, you can submit a check deposit request to VPM via email. VPM will then mail your deposit to the bank within 24 hours, and Voila! Within a week, you can expect to see the funds in your bank account. VPM’s check depositing service is convenient, easy, and fast. It is also cost-effective, as you will pay for the deposits you request, and you can choose to save money by depositing multiple checks together.
Mail Scanning
All mail scans are high and consistent quality because all locations are owned and operated by VPM. This means more control of your mail and faster delivery of your mail scans to your virtual mailbox within 6 business hours.
Package Forwarding
Receive packages from all couriers including FedEx, UPS, and USPS. Have peace of mind knowing that there is always someone here to accept and store your package for you in a secure manner, rather than left out on the porch. Incoming packages are available in your account the same day they are received. All shipment requests for package forwarding are processed and shipped out within 1 business day. Another great benefit of this service is that you can choose to bundle your packages so you can save money on shipping and get the most affordable prices.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. If I own more than one mailbox account with VPM, can I manage it all under a single login?
While you are welcome to sign-up for multiple accounts, it is currently not possible for them to be managed under a single user log-in. The good news is the Development Team is working on introducing a multi-mailbox management system feature in the future.
2. Can I move or switch my account to the new location?
You can obtain an address at the new location, but in order to do so, you will need to go through the sign up process and open up a new address at that new location. Once you do so, should you wish to close any existing accounts, contact customer support to assist you in the closing process. Remember that each location operates independently and processes mail on-site at the location. For this reason, you cannot transfer or internally forward mail from one location to another. You will also need to make arrangements with your mailers so you can start utilizing the new mailbox address instead of continuing forward with the old address you plan to close. For details regarding this, please follow this link Can I change my address from one location to another?
3. Do I need to submit a notarized Form 1583 if I have an existing account with you?
If you are an existing customer or were a customer within the past 12 months, you are eligible to waive the notarization requirement upon receiving your Form 1583 and two IDs for the new account. When submitting your documents, please make sure to reference your current or past account information.
